Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2, 2026
Save My Deposit (the "Service", available at savemydeposit.com) is operated by the Save My Deposit operator ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms & Conditions form the agreement between you and the Save My Deposit operator. By creating an account, uploading documentation, or purchasing anything on the Service, you agree to these terms.
1. What the Service does
Save My Deposit is a self-service documentation and document-preparation tool for renters. It lets you capture timestamped move-in and move-out photos, complete room-by-room condition checklists, look up published state security-deposit rules, generate condition reports and evidence packets, and prepare a demand letter you may choose to send to your landlord.
The Service provides legal information and document preparation, not legal advice. We are not a law firm, we are not your attorney, and no attorney-client relationship is created. For advice about your specific situation, consult a licensed attorney in your state.
2. Acceptance and eligibility
Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of these terms and of any updated version we post here. You must be of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current — deadline calculations and generated documents depend on the dates and details you enter.
4. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass or defraud anyone;
- upload fabricated, altered, or misleading evidence, or misrepresent the date or subject of any photograph;
- send spam or bulk unsolicited messages using content generated here;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
- interfere with the Service's security or availability, including malware, probing, scanning, scraping, or circumventing technical limits;
- reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, notes, and documents you upload. You grant us a limited license to host, store, and process that content solely to operate the Service for you — for example, to store photos, render your condition report, or draft a demand letter. You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.
6. Our intellectual property
The Save My Deposit operator retains ownership of the Service and all associated intellectual property, including the software, templates, checklists, compiled state-law summaries, branding, and documentation. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your own tenancy matters.
7. Payments, subscriptions, and Paddle
Documenting your rental is free. Certain outputs — such as the Dispute Toolkit — are paid, one-time purchases at the price shown at checkout.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, currency, tax, invoicing, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. See our Refund Policy for our refund window and how to request one.
8. AI-assisted features
Some features use automated systems to read documents you upload and to draft suggested wording. Output may be inaccurate or incomplete, is not legal advice, and must be reviewed and edited by you before you rely on or send it. You are responsible for what you send to your landlord or file with a court.
9. Service level and warranties
The Service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we do not guarantee any particular outcome in a deposit dispute. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill. Our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where that limitation is not permitted by law.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify the Save My Deposit operator against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these terms.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. On termination we will delete or anonymize your data as described in the Privacy Notice; you should export any reports or photos you want to keep before closing your account.
13. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of the seller's residence in the United States, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
14. Contact
